sass of style

For the bold and expressive girl.

Hey guys! A short and sweet post for you this week. I put a little twist on my regular look. I went with a printed tie jacket to spice up my favorite high neck top. I then added a bit of contrast with this perfect yellow bag. I love this yellow tone with its 70’s look and the polka dots with the retro vibes. I definitely think the two pieces are complimenting each other well. Shop the pieces below!

Making Your Workwear Trendy

November 9, 2017

It’s tough making your workwear trendy, but still office appropriate. First off, my office has a very casual dress code. If you are at an office where dress pants, dresses and skirts are only allowed, I’m sorry. I am a big fan of denim and usually live in jeans at my office.

This look can give you a trendy-appropriate way to dress for work for those of you who have a stuffy dress code. I scored this awesome plaid skirt on sale at Zara last winter. I am loving that plaid is the hottest trend this fall and I can work this piece into my wardrobe well.

I added my new Diane von Furstenburg top which I got from Saks Off Fifth. I’ve always loved a front tie on a blouse. Cropped tops and high waist lines help me split up my long torso.

I slipped on my white slides from Target and my Topshop handbag and was ready for work.

Hope you guys liked this workwear look. Would love to hear your feedback in the comments.

Xx Amanda

I have been working with this brand for over a year now. Without fail every time I wear one of their pieces it marks the day I get the most compliments that month. There are just such unique and high quality pieces that are on

My latest picks were some of my best yet. This grey jacket is perfect for fall! It is not to heavy not too light and it looks fabulous on. It goes with just about anything and I love that it allows me to wear this long-line vest underneath it too. It can always be awkward when a vest like this is hanging lower than your jacket.

This long-line vest is so cool. It is very structured, but unique because of it’s lace up sides. This piece can take any rather ordinary look and make it fabulous. I layered this boat-neck sweater with an exaggerated sleeve underneath and I got perfection.

I am obsessed with this dress. Yes, I said dress. This sweater and metallic pleated skirt combo comes in one piece! This gorgeous dress is only $39  and I’m in love. I styled it with a metallic slender waist belt and my favorite pair of edgy boots. I then added my new earth-toned Fossil bag to throw a little more contrast into the look. This dress is so perfect for fall, it is something that you throw on and be chic in. Easy as that.

The winter months are nearing and you’re in need of a new look. In winter you basically live in your jacket, so you better pick a great one.

My latest winter jacket was on sale at Shop Tobi. I’m loving it and am excited for it to actually be cold out for winter use. The jacket comes in black and pink and is on sale for about $50!  I paired it with this gorgeous rose sweater dress. It is so cute and perfect when you just need to throw something on. I added these amazing satin boots and ended up looking a little like a Barbie with a killer jacket. Happy Shopping!

Sweater Weather. It’s not quite here yet, but I’m ready for it. Large and lumpy sweaters are a fan favorite when it comes to the colder months. I personally wanted to shake it up a bit with this uniquely cut sweater.

It is a halter sweater with an open back. This makes you look cute and cozy all at the same time. I paired the sweater with some flare pants and arrived at this twist to a classic fall look.

Today is the first day of fall and I wanted to give you all some autumn vibes. I am as basic as they come, when it comes to fall. The second I saw that Starbucks advertising, I was grabbing my PSL with no shame. Those things are good and it marks the beginning of New York’s best weather in my opinion.

For my super fall look, I wore this white high neck top. I am really wanting all the turtlenecks this season. This one is great because of the bell sleeve. It makes it extra chic in my opinion. I paired it with this super fall wrap skirt. I love this skirt and the color especially, as you know I’ve been super into orange lately and this fits right in with my new love affair. I then added my white pointed flats and my grey fringe bag. Vóila my first Fall 2017 look.

This was my first NYFW in the fall. I have to say that the street style was way better than NYFW in the winter. I, of course, had my hands full working the shows and attended some events here and there. I have to say it doesn’t get old. It was so much fun being able to see all my new friends that I’ve made this year at the shows and events. I wore this gorgeous Parker NY dress to the shows I worked and I can’t get enough of it. I’m a sucker for neck ties. I paired it with my gorgeous new Brahmin bag and a furry-pointed-sling-back flat and was good-to-go.

Glad the chaos is over for now, but excited for the next season to come!

Fall is nearing and this means gearing up your jean wardrobe. There were a few styles I needed to update my wardrobe with this season, whether that’d be by replacing old pairs that I wore out or gaining new cuts that I was dying to try. I recently found this site Century 21 stores where you can find tons of designer brands for cheap. I just snagged two pairs of Levi’s for $60. I was super happy with my purchase. Otherwise some other great places I love to shop for jeans are ASOS  and Urban Outfitters. Here are a few styles I think you should definitely invest in this fall and as always shop my look below.

Making your maxi chic is a great challenge for anyone. A maxi comes off as laid back, flowy and beachy. In order to polish the look you need to accessorize well.

I paired this gorgeous maxi with a pointed slide. Wearing this shoe takes the look into a completely different direction. A flat sandal says beach-party ready, but a pointed slide says city chic. I also made sure to wear some elegant jewelry pieces to dress it up even more. The maxi in itself is such a unique piece. The elegant halter neckline and the deep slits create a beautiful silhouette.

This maxi is from People of Leisure. I absolutely adore their clothes and their aesthetic. The dress is so soft and beautifully distressed. I’d definitely recommend checking them out.
