sass of style

For the bold and expressive girl.

How to take your outfit from day to night. My weekend look usually includes a pair of boyfriend jeans and a cute jacket. This weekend I pulled out my thrifted-long-line jacket for an extra chic look. I wore my favorite bodysuit underneath and paired it with my new Honora Fringe Suede Leather Crossbody in Grey  from Pink Haley Handbags. I love this look because of the exaggerated proportions of the jacket.

This bag is perfect for day-time wear. I love that it is taller than it is wider, because my wallet and sunglass case are easier to grab. It is so chic on and I love showing it off.

To transition to night, I just slipped off my jacket and switched handbags. My bodysuit has a criss-cross detailed back, adding that extra something to your night-out. I paired my night outfit with the Floral Petal Box Clutch in Black. This is a perfect clutch for a fun night-out. It fits all your essentials and has a chain strap to boot. Scroll down for the night look.

Go check out Pink Haley Handbags here, to check out more of their fabulous bags. Also check out my Instagram for a Pink Haley Handbag giveaway of the Honora Fringe Suede Leather Crossbody.

I am obsessed with button-downs and I’ve always wanted a flower-beaded-button-down shirt. This blouse from Dezzal is the feminine blouse I’ve been looking for.

It is only $44.99 on Dezzal and I love wearing it anywhere. It is super-great for fall  layering, but I wanted you guys to see the fabulous beading on this dime-piece first. This shirt is perfect for work wear as well as for the weekend. I wore it bowling this weekend and it may not be a lucky charm, but I looked fab. If you love it too check it out here: 3D Flower Printed Work Shirt.

If you are loving these Dezzal posts I have been posting lately, be sure to check out their site, Facebook and Instagram to check them out!

Jumpsuit Amanda Sutherland

In collaboration with Dezzal, I have received the most amazing jumpsuit and detailed top from their online selection. This outfit spoke to me on their site because it has that New York style with a feminine touch.

The outfit can be worn as a business-casual look with flats or heels. With a heel the outfit would create a stunning elongated look to wear to work 0r for evening occasions.  I on the other hand decided to dress the look down with a pair of Adidas for the New York street look. The outfit can go either way really.

The jumpsuit fit me very well. I have an extremely long torso so the fact that this fit me was amazing. Duly noted I did order a large due to my knowledge of my long torso. The quality of this jumpsuit and top were amazing, definitely work wear material. The jumpsuit particularly felt like a business pant or blazer-type material.

I absolutely adore the top underneath the detailed-bell sleeve. It is so feminine and unique. The top is very flattering it made my chest look bigger than it is, which is a positive for me. I’m excited to wear these pieces separate and together.

The whole outfit was $103.99. The price was definitely worth the quality for me. I received the clothes about two weeks after I ordered and was thrilled when I opened my packages.

I have to say Dezzal really executes a quality piece for your wardrobe quite nicely. They also have extremely unique pieces for everybody.

Go check out there site for fabulous combinations just like this. Here is the link to the outfit I received: Bell Sleeve Knitwear With Capri Palazzo Overalls. Also check out Dezzal’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Scroll down for a better look.

sexy-bralettes

I have partnered with Adore Me for my bralette styling as part of their Flirty Fall Essentials campaign. Bralettes have been the best thing since sliced bread lately. They allow you to wear all of the shirts in your closet that you dread finding an appropriate bra for. Say goodbye to that nude strapless bra you’ve worn for the millionth time.

Now there are many ways to use a bralette in your outfit. Many styles include cut-out tees, off-the shoulder  sweaters and of course the V-neck tee. To step up my bralette game, I combined my dress shirt look from my previous post and simply layered the bralettte on top. The dress shirt just needs to be buttoned at a comfortable position around your shoulders. The collar must then be tucked in for the off-the-shoulder blouse look. Slide the bralette over it for a unique fall layering effect.

Below are some recommendations of bralettes to purchase for your look.

I entered an Instagram contest to win the experience of a life time. The grand prize was to receive a consultation from none other than celebrity dermatologist, Dr. Lancer.  Dr. Lancer treats celebrities from Kim Kardashian to Ellen DeGeneres. The prize entailed airfare, hotel stay, consultation, a power peel, Lancer Skincare products and spending money all for two people.

My boyfriend and I flew into LAX and headed to the Carlyle Inn in Beverly Hills, CA. The hotel was gorgeous and super Instagram-able. The first night we headed straight to SUR Restaurant because I am a big Lisa Vanderpump fan. The restaurant was just as I had imagined gorgeous and delicious.

The next day we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast. Afterwards we headed straight to Dr. Lancer’s office. Dr. Lancer’s consultation was amazing. He broke down our heritage and learned the behavior of our skin which led to his product recommendation and routines for us individually. After we met with Dr. Lancer we received our power peels. The power peel uses a vacuum to shoot tiny crystals onto your skin, this removes a layer of outer skin. After that we were polished of and had a moist towel laid on us. We were then exposed to liquid nitrogen to freeze skin lesions.

Our skin looked and felt amazing afterward. My boyfriend even received a compliment at work the next day about his skin. We recently received our Dr. Lancer products and can’t wait to see the results.

After our consultation we roamed around Rodeo Drive, ate at Sugarfish (amazing sushi!), grabbed a pastry at Urth Caffe and then headed to the beach. I had never been to California before and this was really the way to do it. I’d like to thank Dr. Lancer and his wonderful team for creating not just a prize, but an experience.

As I have said in my previous articles. It is all about the high-necks for me right now. Clothes are becoming looser and as you have seen the skinny jeans are fading away. Initially when I saw this dress online I was in love. Then I got it home. I slipped it on excitedly and then felt a little weird. Realizing I hadn’t actually pieced my outfit together I threw on my heel-pointed booties and it felt a hundred times better staring into that mirror. The dress is not super body-hugging so naturally it made me more uncomfortable than usual. Whenever you have an apple or pear shaped body the looser fitting clothing can make you feel bigger than you actually are. This is where a small heel will help. It elongates your leg to make your legs look slimmer and your stride more confident. This dress may be a big step for some people, but for others all it takes is a few accessories and everyone will be gawking over your outfit.

Last year around this time, culottes were getting a lot of attention. I loved them, but didn’t feel I needed to make the investment. Now after being in the city for the summer, I want a pair in every color. I have been scouting the web for the perfect pair after some failed attempts at a Rag & Bone sample sale. The best places I found to snag these were Misguided (if they weren’t sold out) or of course my all time favorite ASOS.

The pair that I have on is extremely comfortable. They are casual without looking like sweatpants, but in all reality they feel like sweat pants. They are so comfortable I wanted to sleep in them and they make your outfit instantly chic.

Now in regards to my high-neck top. I’m obsessed. The first day of my internship in New York City, I met the most beautiful Belgium girl wearing a high-neck t-shirt dress and I have been obsessed ever since. These tops are a chic twist on your day-to-day comfortable throw-it-on tops.

You too can make your own tube top with the help of  your ordinary dress shirt.  My look was inspired by some of that Man Repeller creativity and the fact that I am running out of clothes this summer. The best way to style is to utilize and re-purpose, hence the make your own tube top.

You simply fold in the collar and tie the sleeves firmly behind your back. Make sure to wear a cami underneath and wallah you have a flowy new extravagant top for summer.

You don’t need to scroll below for this look, but if you don’t have the closet staple dress shirt I recommend some below.

If you’re looking to be ahead of the curve this fall or haven’t already jumped on the bomber jacket bandwagon, it’s time to get to it. This fall it is a sure thing that leather jackets will be replaced by bombers. Bomber jackets give your outfit a streetwear-cool vibe making it perfect for your leisure occasions. I opted for a metallic bomber for more of a statement piece, while other varieties are available like your classic black or dusty pinks.

I wore this outfit to the last and final College Fashionista workshop of the summer. I am currently a social media intern for them and love how much networking I’ve been able to do with them in the city. The workshop included a panel with the Creative Director of Henri Bendel, the senior editors of MTV Style, Fashionista.com and PureWow.com. The panel was super inspiring considering two of the senior editors were formerly interns for College Fashionista. It was located at the Henri Bendel store on fifth avenue which included fun mocktails, treats and goodie bags.

Layers in the summer? Weird concept right? Well it’s a perfect way to spice up your summer tanks and crop tops for a chic look. All you’ll need is your basic tee that we went over in my previous post, preferably a crew neck. Now it’s hot s remember 100% cotton is your best friend in this weather. This is especially for when you are layering in the summer. Then simply place your contrasting tank, crop-top or dress over your tee. This look can make some of your favorite going out pieces into work friendly pieces in a casual office setting, maybe not my leather crop corset specifically, but you get the gist.

I’d also like to point the lovely Latico Leather bag I am sporting. This bag actually doubles as a crossbody and backpack, completely multi-functional. Latico kindly gifted me this backpack to share with you all. Below I have posted some options that you can layer over your tees and some of my favorites from Latico Leathers.
