sass of style

For the bold and expressive girl.

Hi everyone! It has been a while. The past year has been CRAZY. There has been so much going on at work and prioritizing my free time has been a little nuts. I have been focusing on finding my work-life balance and finding a way to save additional time each week is super helpful.

I recently came across an ad for a new subscription service that would send my birth control straight to my apartment without a doctor’s appointment. I personally hate scheduling appointments for birth control renewals because you miss work and the additional office visit fees stack up. It always feels like a waste of my valuable work time. Nurx allows me to receive my presecription without any extra hassle.

The Nurx app gives you a personal consultation by having you fill out a questionnaire to figure out which birth control is right for you. You can even choose whether or not you’d like to skip your periods every month. If you already know which birth control you’d like to use, than you can select that particular brand from the get go. After filling out the questionnaire the app gives you a recommendation from their team of doctors. The app does take insurance so depending on your provider, each pack could be $0, but without insurance it is only $15 per pack. There additionally is a $12 consulting fee, but that’s it.

It’s truly such a convenient app and I’m so happy I found it. The brand recently reached out to me to partner on this post and I was thrilled to work with a brand that I already used.

Nurx also provides additional products besides birth control pills including rings, patches, shots, emergency contraception and other feminine testing kits.

I love Nurx’s dedication to feminine health and I hope you admire it too. If you also hate the struggle of obtaining your prescription, it’s definitely worth a try.

Doing a huge outfit round-up today on the blog. I had an interesting start to my summer to say the least and wanted to catch you guys up on everything outfits and events.

I absolutely love the summer there are so many cool events to go to, beaches to relax on and tons of rooftops to grab drinks on. So essentially it’s the best season of the year, until the humidity hits. Shop my favorite looks and catch up on what I’ve been up to.

This little dress is one of my favorites to throw on for hot summer days. It’s a fun-trendy print but very cool and breezy.

I am obsessed with these pants (similar) that I got from Century 21 stores. I wore these on one of my very favorite days this year so far. I headed to the Instagram headquarters for an Instagram Fashion Master Class, which was absolutely amazing to learn from Eva Chen and her team. Later that night I headed to the Bowery Hotel for an Alice and Olivia x Ecco Domaine Launch event. The food spread was amazing and the entire event was just beautiful.

This amazing two-piece was perfect for my first beach day of the summer. I got it from Shop The List We Love and find it so so flattering. I also got this handbag from Pink Haley Handbags and love matching it with all my summer outfits. Shop the top here and the shorts here.

This jumpsuit (similar) was perfect for peruzing around the city while showing my friends around this summer. It fits so nicely and was only $20 at Century 21 Stores.

I had a great Time at the Eugenia Kim x Jose Cuervo launch party this summer. So many delicious margaritas and the cutest embroidered bags and hats were being celebrated. I wore this summery dress from Johnny Was and thought it was the perfect look for this launch party.

I am adoring the puffy sleeves these days. This look I got from Century 21 and I really love the silhouette with the cropped and frilled pants (similar). It is probably my favorite look so far this summer. Shop similar versions of the top here and here.

This flirty look is such perfection. I love the dramatic top and the edgy accessories matched with a very girly skirt. I got this flirty skirt from the fashion foundation, it’s actually a Rebecca Minkoff. If you’ve never heard of the fashion foundation, it’s a place to buy second-hand clothes, but some of the proceeds go towards funding children in schools. It’s an amazing foundation, run by an amazing girl.

Hope you enjoyed my little outfit catch up as much as I did! 💕

It’s spring and soon to be summer now! I am wanting to redo just about everything in my life: my apartment, my wardrobe and my beauty routine. I have gotten so into beauty lately, it’s  a little insane. I was seriously that person who would stick with one product and use it everyday, same lotion, same face wash, etc. I am introducing so many fun new products into my life and it has put me into this super positive self care mode. Self care is something that I try to do once a weekend. I spend the whole day working on my blog, working out, taking care of my skin and journaling to help keep myself in check. Beauty rituals have become a large part of this and let me explore new products that I normally wouldn’t try.

As you guys may remember, I partnered with Being by Sanctuary this winter and I am still obsessing over the products. I specifically can’t stop using their Salted Caramel & Macadamia Body Lotion. I seriously smell like a sugar cookie after I use this and am starting to run pretty low. Most recently I’ve added two new products by Being by Sanctuary to my collection: the Chilli Mango & Tonka Bean Shower Burst and the Salted Caramel & Macadamia Body Scrub. You all probably know how excited I am for the body scrub because it’s my favorite scent from the collection and gives you a total exfoliation…I’m in! The new shower burst is also a great new addition because it has such a unique smell and is very soothing to put on after the exfoliant. Playing with these products has been so ah-mazing.

The collection is being sold at Ulta Beauty stores and I got to visit a location to shop the collection. Shopping for Being by Sanctuary there was so cool because I got to see the entire collection at the store and be reminded of my favorite scents to shop. Can’t wait to try out some more amazing beauty products to share with you guys.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share two of my latest looks for you this week from one of my favorite companies Metisu. This first look is a dream. I absolutely love how the top part of this dress really flatters my shape. There is some gorgeous fabric use going on here! This dress can be worn off the shoulder, but I love the way it bunches when it is worn on your shoulders. It is very romantic with the frills and flares and also includes my favorite polka dot trend.

This second looks is so chic so I clearly had to find an equally chic setting. I love this concept of a vest dress. It will be perfect for work. The belt is meant to be laced through, but I spiced it up a bit by simply knotting the belt. This gives your look an added chicness. I wore a turtleneck underneath because I love the layered look, I would also wear this with a black T-Shirt underneath to mix it up a bit. I definitely would wear some sort of heel with this midi length dress to elongate your silhouette. Add a fun bag and you’re good to go.

I had such a great time in Puerto Rico and it’s really sad to hear about the blackouts a week after my trip. It sounds like the island is up and running just like when I visited, but the rural areas are still not the best.

As promised I’ve compiled some vacation looks for you all to shop from my trip. Wherever you may be vacationing or if you want to get a jump start on your summer looks, this is the post for you.

Polka dots are huge right now and I absolutely love this natural brown  dress in this trend. I paired it with this summer’s “boho it-bag” for a summery-chic look.

I’ve actually had this lemon-y two piece set for a while now, but didn’t know exactly where to wear it. This was the perfect look to walk to the beach in. It definitely doesn’t fit into my New York lifestyle but for vacations it is perfect to throw on during the day.

I absolutely love this swimsuit. I love the retro scarf print and this is literally my favorite cut of the season. The exaggerated high-leg-high-waist bikini and bandeau top is such an amazing cut on everyone. It pulls in your tummy and exaggerates your legs. I promise you my legs do not look this long normally. Here is one of my favorite picks from ASOS right now: top and bottom.

I am obsessed with this retro two piece set . Nasty Gal has some amazing two piece sets and I had to have this for vacation. Here are two options that I am obsessing over on their site: option 1 and option 2.Using the inspiration from colorful old San Juan, I kept my accessories bright as well with some adorable hot pink mules and my bright pink Furla purse.

Let me know what your favorite look is in the comments below!

I can not explain how good of a time I had in Puerto Rico, but I’m going to attempt it. Now I know your first thought, is it okay in Puerto Rico? My answer, definitely. The island is very much intact. The only thing you’ll see is some houses near the shoreline that are a bit scrappy. The major cities are completely okay and spending your tourist dollars can definitely help in boosting the economy. We stayed in an Airbnb right in the middle of Old San Juan and boy was it perfect. It was a penthouse right by all the best bars and restaurants with an amazing patio. You can check it out here. (Use my link for $40 off if you’re new to Airbnb)

We spent most of our time going to beaches and eating amazing food. The first beach was like our own private beach called Playa Pena Beach. Granted it was a Monday and one of the rockier beaches, but who wouldn’t want their own beach? The second beach we went to was Condado, which was perfect for a late afternoon session. So many fun kitesurfers on that beach, there must have been 30 of them just flipping around in the air.

On to the food, we had so many great restaurants and bars to choose from, but here is a quick list for you:

  •     La Madre – Amazing spot for brunch with outdoor seating
  •    Marmalade – Amazing dinner spot , definitely on the $$$-side, but you must try their Foie Gras when you go
  •    Princesa Gastrobar – Such good seafood, their tuna was absolutely stellar
  •    La Taberna Lupulo – Amazing spot for some good bar food and beers (surprisingly had a lot of MI beers there ;))
  •    Punto de Vista Rooftop Restaurant  – Have an amazing rooftop to dine at
  •    La Factoria – The best speakeasy that you need to go to. The salsa is fire and there are so many rooms to explore.

Old San Juan is so beautiful and the buildings are so so pretty. So many gorgeous colors and way more laid back than New York, it was an extremely fun getaway. It definitely was relatively cheap too, the flight was $250 and the Airbnb was $685 for 5 days (Here is the $40 off  link again). I’d say definitely a great steal for a relaxation trip out of the city. Stay tuned for some more outfit posts from the trip.

I can not get enough of dots and stripes. Any piece of clothing in stripes or dots is on my list. Here are two of my most recent looks that I incorporated these prints in.

The first look here I wore my polka dotted tie blouse. I got this blouse using the My Fashom app and have been loving all the pieces I got from their stylists. I mixed the top with a houndstooth blazer and was loving it. The mix of prints was just the touch I needed to make this look interesting. I then paired it with my new loafers. I have been loving these shoes from Vionic, super supportive and very comfortable.

I have to admit, I love this look a little bit more. These pants are amazing! I got them from Century 21 Stores and I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of them. Since the pants were so voluminous at the bottom, I paired them with a tight off the shoulder bodysuit to give me some shape.

March has been a fantastic month so far. A little increase in temperature has been jolting my outfit game. I wanted to round up some of my looks so far over on the ‘gram for you all to shop.

On this day my boyfriend and I headed to The Armory Show. I had never been before and my impression of it was “massive”. If you’ve never been to The Armory Show it’s basically a huge showcase of artists which are available for purchase as well. You get to sip champagne while admiring all the amazing work. I wore this pretty wrap top that I got from Zaful. I love this top to throw on, it’s totally comfortable and has a super flattering shape. I then slung my Furla purse over my shoulder and rested it on the front of my hip. I’m loving this crossbody style lately.

This was a fun little shoot I did before work one day. I am in love with this look. The plaid tie pants with the ruffle top and metallic sneakers?! Loving it. It was such a fun casual look to rock.

Lastly was my outfit at the Clear Eyes x Bridges Aderhold event. This was a very cool event where I had my eye portrait taken. This dress is an all time favorite of mine. You can’t really tell from the picture, but it’s all velvet! It’s no longer in stock, but here is an equally cool floral dress. I then paired it with my OTK boots and my pretty pink bag from Fossil. OTK boots make for the perfect winter tool when you need to wear a dress without freezing your ass off.

Hope you guys enjoyed and can’t wait for those upcoming warm weather outfits!

Oh my god guys, posts without jackets on. Been blogging a little less with the chaos of Fashion Week, or maybe I ran out of jackets. Lol. Obsessed with this new blouse I got from Zaful it is so flattering. I absolutely love the sleeves on it too, it gives your average wrap top a little something extra.

I decided to liven this look up by adding striped pants to it. May I also just point out that these are revealing some ankle. Yay warm weather! I finished the look with some black slides and my new favorite purse from Fossil. The pink color is so perfect and the bag is so well made. It’s my favorite piece from Fossil.

The past two weeks have been insanely busy for me, I was basically just trying to stay afloat. Even through the countless hours put in at work, I still found time to make it to some NYFW events on my day off. I headed to Simply NYC, brunch, a Barry’s Boot Camp Class (#deathofme) and the Jonathan Simkhai show. What was so funny about my outfit choice that day, was that my horoscope said I’d be looking more lavish than usual and it definitely wasn’t wrong.

I planned this look out with Polyvore. I don’t know if you’ve ever used Polyvore before, but it makes outfit planning that much easier. You can search from thousands of different items by description or brand. It could be shoes, coats, pants, makeup, purses or whatever that you’re lusting over. You then can put together a collage of your inspiration to share with others in the Polyvore community. It makes you feel like a fashion editor being able to layout a page of your top pieces in a unique shoppable way. Each collage that is published has shoppable links for the items inserted in the collage automatically. You can inspire and see where to purchase your new favorites.

I put together this post on Polyvore of pieces that inspired my look. It made it that much more fun being able to lay everything out. I’ve been really loving the paper boy hats. I was so excited to wear this to fashion week, it is definitely going to be my weekend go-to hat. I then wanted an amazing statement coat, since it is fashion week and it is freezing cold out. This coat is so similar to the Milly coat in the collage I made, it was amazing to find a jacket inspired by my collage. I then added a more uniform black look underneath to let the statement jacket own the look. Check out Polyvore here.
