The Fall seems as though it has come early this year, which I am not mad about. Fall is my favorite season. So on this relatively cold summer day, my boyfriend and I had plans to go get coffee when we realized it was only 60 degrees out. The unexpected weather shift had me rummaging through his closet to find something warm. I slipped on this literal “boyfriend cardigan” and added a belt to accentuate my waist. I then put on my new favorite skinny scarf. I wrapped it around my neck tightly once and then tucked it underneath my belt. This chic layering trick is perfect for the fall and looks awesome with a pair of booties and a pair of boyfriend jeans.

Shamefully I have paired this outfit with a pumpkin spice latte, but it seemed quite fitting for my excitement of fall. Check out this recipe to make one to compliment your fall layers. Oh yeah, don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom to find pieces to create this look.

So I am an earring offender. I buy a favorite pair of earrings from a generic cheap store and wear those earrings continuously for a year until I get bored of them. The problem with this is, I never take them out. I will clean around them, but I sleep and shower in my earrings. Earring care like for some of you may be a pamphlet you received when you got your ears pierced at the age of seven. Lately I have been searching for a more expensive pair of earrings that I can wear through all my daily shenanigans.

The main tips I have found are not to buy sterling silver and to go for 24 karat gold from lavalier.com. Of course you will not find earrings made of 24 karat gold on the market easily. Usually you will find a 10K, 14K, or 18K pair of earrings. With 10K earrings you are likely to be purchasing an earring that is made of 41.7% gold, for 14K it is usually  58.5% gold, and with 18K you are looking at an earring that is made of at least 75% gold. These facts are pulled from  the following empire loan article.

Gold will definitely have less water damage, but any damage that is physical to gold at a higher karat level will result in more damage. So for your day to day wear gold is the right choice, but perhaps a 14K set would be your best bet to make sure water and physical damages have a lower risk of occuring.

If you are going to be on the silver band wagon it is less likely they can go through a shower and not become tarnished. It is suggested that you will need to take more safe care of your cheaper earrings because they are more prone to damage. You will need to take them out and soak them them during your showers and physical activities. So in my head when I weigh these two options, it is clear that I am now in search for 14 karat gold earrings instead of my miscellaneously composed $5 earrings . Down below I have found a few of my favorite, but not crazy expensive quality earrings, I am lusting for.

In recent news,  the internet was taken by storm by tweeter Chelsea Smith. This 19 year old girl went viral when she tweeted, “After my nineteen years of living i have now realized that you are supposed to take the plastic part off  pic.twitter.com/ejValCaa7G .”  – (@Chelsea__Smithh) August 1, 2015

The twitter sphere went wild. Was it true that most of us were living a lie, wearing the plastic backing on our earrings? Some individuals debated back that the plastic pieces are used for more stability, but the reality is the plastic backs are meant to be removed. Write your opinions down below in the comment box of whether you knew or not or if you even believe it.

My new shades may seem familiar to you, they are aviator cat shades. This hybrid has been sported by Prada and I just needed a look a like pair. The perfect shades can transform your outfit from waeh to wow. This pair is especially flattering to my heart shaped face. It blends the broader forehead of a heart shaped face and balances my narrow chin for perfect proportions. Not to mention oversize frames are always an it factor for heat shaped faces. If cat eyes aren’t for you though aviators are the best bet for heart shapes.

If you have an oval shaped face you are one of those lucky individuals who can basically pull off any kind of shades you would like. For square faces you want to look for round shades, this will soften the harsh angles of your almost equal jawline and forehead width. If you have a round face you may want a more square frame to make your face look slimmer.

The rest of my outfit features a peasant top with a flare sleeve which adds volume to the outfit. The army green skirt features a studded look that has the same flow-y aesthetic as the shirt. And of course my favorite loafers to finish the look.

Polish model, Anja Rubik sported this boho menswear outfit and I am obsessed. This is such a simple outfit that is completely cohesive with its accessories. The must haves of this look are the skinny scarf, the vest, and the gladiator sandals. The look can be paired with your wardrobe staple white blouse, jean shorts, and retro sunglasses. The combination of the structured vest with the flow-y silhouette has me gaga. Below are some options to click to get the look. Photo from vogue.com.

A night at the batting cages. This leisure outfit was perfect for my first batting cage experience. Although I played softball for 6 years before I was 12 , I had never experienced a batting cage. I knew it was going to be hot so I wore this gingham wrap top from my mothers closet. It was a perfect match for my high waisted shorts and printed sneakers. Gingham has been a very popular print this past spring and summer. It felt like a gold mine when I snatched this shirt up. Below I have selected a few gingham tops that could make your next sporty chic outfit!

ymre-stiekema-bugaboo-2-27jul15-pr_bn_426x639Bugaboo has recently published an ad featuring model Ymre Stekiema running with her daughter. The stroller ad has been extremely controversial online and people are not holding back there opinions on this ad. The models outfit has as much fabric as a swimsuit.

To most conservative individuals this would not be a favorable outfit choice. The mother depicted in the ad is clearly very proud and comfortable in her skin. On the other side of it, would you ever consider going for a run in your swimsuit? I believe that women should wear what makes them feel confident and strong, but this look may be a little too bold for the everyday mother to be sporting. This ad may make some mothers feel ashamed of how motherhood has transformed their bodies as well.

The luxury stroller brand is definitely trying to catch the public’s eye with this ad. There are good points to both sides of the argument, but the ad is definitely stirring up the online world.

In other news, harnesses have been definitely been spotted as a trend. These accessories are being layered on top of clothing in a mainstream way says the whowhatwear.com article. Mainstream has been a word fashionistas try to avoid , but when an exceptionally risque accessory comes into play mainstream may help keep this look chic and not tragic. To some this could be seen as too much or promiscus, but the pictures above prove that with some chic styling these can definitely work.

Jane Birkin, the famous 1970s actress, has recently told Hermès that she no longer wants the iconic Birkin bag named after her. The famous bag usually runs between five and six figures and is the ultimate status symbol for fashionistas. Jane Birkin is adamant about this because of recent information she learned about the brutality to crocodiles in a leather manufacturer for Hermès in Texas. Videos were released of the Texas slaughter house by the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Hermès quickly replied with a statement that those manufacturers from Texas are not owned by the company.  Hermès claims that their company has officials that inspect their manufacturers for brutality such as this and the actions will be rectified accordingly. In other words someone is getting in trouble.

In recent news today, it has been made aware that PETA has bought a share from Hermès. This will allow them to sit in on board meetings and help to reach the organizations goal of abolishing the bags from even being made of crocodile skin.

Jane Birkin may have some issues if she really wants to go through with stripping her name away from the bag. Jane does not have her name trademarked for leather goods, but Hermès does, says Hannah Marriot in this guardian article. Designers have been known to name bags after certain celebrities especially in the late 1970s. Celebrities have to be conscious of trademarking their names in all areas to avoid conflict.

Summer has finally started for us Michiganders. The weather is getting hotter and our hair is getting bigger. And we still want to have brunch on patios. This look is a perfect fit for a hot day. This is not only because of the limited amount of shirt that I am wearing, but the material I am wearing. The outfit I chose is made from natural fibers. My circle skirt is made of 100% cotton and my shirt is 95% cotton with 5% spandex. These natural fibers will allow your skin to breathe, while something made of 100% polyester will suck the heat and contain it on your skin.

I paired my halter and circle skirt with my favorite pair of espadrille wedges from the Jessica Simpson line. These shoes are perfect for dressing up a summer look. I might also try wearing a printed flat, if you are not one for heels. Bellow I have picked out some similar hot weather looks.

As I was skimming through the couture shows, Viktor & Rolf blew me away with their haute couture collection two weeks ago. The workmanship and creativity was abundant. The designers wanted to actually depict wearable art with their painting like ensembles. These garments were very fluid and had a great deal of movement compared to how the photos exemplify them. During the show a few of the pieces were taken off the models and hung on the wall as a backdrop for the finale. This was ironically done to debate the question of whether fashion is art. Click here to see a video of the show in action.

Viktor & Rolf had recently announced this winter that they would only be focusing on their haute couture collection this year. Putting all of their effort into this appealing and intriguing collection definitely paid off. Check out the pictures below of a few of my favorite looks.

Ever  since I was in the fifth grade, I’ve made fun of my mom’s mom jeans. The way it accentuated her stomach made me cringe and sometimes we would even make fun of her FUPA (Fat Under P***Y Area). The reality of it was that most women have a natural rim around their stomach. To themselves they see it as a flaw, but when other people see it, it is completely normal. The reason that the rim is there is because you are a woman. Even Barbie has come to terms with a real woman’s body in their new healthy figured Barbies. The natural rim that a woman has, has been once again accepted into popular culture.

I am now obsessed with mom jeans. They make your outfit instantly more stylish. Just take a cue from Kendall Jenner in this Refinery 29 article. Now let there be a fair warning that they can be tricky to wear. The key to these jeans is the fit. You want to make sure that they are of high quality and that they rest near or above your belly button. Also bloated days may not be your favorite days in these jeans. So hit up a thrift shop for some old Levis or check out my recommendations below. Soon you could be rockin’ your new favorite pair of mom jeans.

A swimsuit can make or break your confidence on the beach. You have to find the perfect match for your body type and skin tone and of course keeping your stylish composure all at the same time. These days, having an oddly shaped bikini is in and the weirder the tan lines the better the bikini. I have stayed true to my love of black bikinis this summer with a twist. My bikini top features and extra piece of fabric that wraps across the rib cage and ties in the back. This gives me the extra bikini flare without fully submersing myself to a summer of embarrassing tan lines. Sometimes an even tan can even compromise my fashion choices. The wrap bikini is perfect to saunter around the beach in and catch some rays. Below I have featured some similar bikinis, that may just catch your eye.
