sass of style

For the bold and expressive girl.

This outfit is so killer with the two piece set from Sweet Fairy Shop. Reminiscing in my favorite 90’s movies, I realize there is quite a resemblance between my ensemble and the ever iconic Cher Horowitz ensemble. With the muted gray towns and modern grid pattern, this outfit is so fashionable with its neutral take on things. Adding the bomber jacket really helped modernize the look even more.

The fit is fantastic, usually it’s a bit longer hem line than I like to wear, but it looks gorgeous on. Sweet Fairy Shop has some great structure to all of its outfits. Go check out their site here for more feminine and sweet looks. Don’t forget to use my discount code, “SassOfStyle” to receive 10% off at checkout. Happy Shopping! xx

I love this longline top. People usually love it or hate it. I get tons of compliments or may receive compliments for looking like a matrix character or the nerd from Grandma’s boy. In my opinion it’s all about how you wear it. With my high-waisted jeans and layered jacket, the compliments start to roll in. I also love testing the boundaries of social acceptably with this one.

Here are some pieces to get the look: Zara Top with Front KnotBrave Soul Longline Split Hem Top , Minimum Linah Longline Shirt , and the Vero Moda Button Side Longline Shirt .

The thing about holiday shopping is that everyone is looking for something easy. So you may have stashes and stashes of lotion in your closet from random gift givers who got them at a bargain price. No shame, but if you want to buy them something that they’ll actually use and enjoy, this is it. Here is a list of people in your life that you may or may not get gifts for and what you should be actually getting them.

For your Mom:
A massage gift certificate, because she needs it.
A nail salon gift certificate, she also needs this too.

For your Dad:
New sports equipment: tennis balls, golf gloves or basketball net – because sports.
Special tea or coffee equipment because tea and coffee addictions are no joke.

For your best friend (attached at birth) or sister:
A fun new handbag.
A new coffee traveler mug because I always lose those things.
Fun new underwear because everyone needs a panty wardrobe refresh.

For your boyfriend or brother:
His new favorite video game because he may love it more than you.
A whisky set because it makes him feel classy.
An expensive bottle of liquor because this will also add to his classy sense of self.

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is in Paris, France this year. Such a great selection for the multi-billion dollar company. From the stereotypical Audrey Hepburn lines of, “Paris is always a good idea,” to the sight of all of the Victoria’s Secret Angels posing in front of the Eiffel Tower on Snapchat, Instagram and the web, this could not be a more perfect match.

There is something peculiar about this selection though. As I was listening to my favorite podcast about the recent Paris heists, Pop Fashion, I began to think about how the Victoria’s Secret Show may be actually helping Paris out by holding the show there. With the recent ISIS bombings and high-profile thefts from stars like Kim Kardashian, Bollywood actress Malika Sherawat and recently $5.3 million in jewelry from two Qatari sisters last week, it looks like Paris is in need of some tourism help.

In the New York Times, the chief marketing officer of creative services and executive producer of the show, Edward Razek, said that the show was an investment of over $20 million. This could be deceiving though because usually the company does not disclose how much that they spend on the event. I feel as thought there is definitely a lot of discounted prices or help financially from the Paris Tourist Office because of the recent crime in the city.

This is my theory of the situation. Let me know what you think in the comments. Also don’t forget to tune into the shown this Monday, December 5th at 10 p.m. Eastern on CBS. Should be the best one yet.

Leather pants have been in style for about over 6 years now. The real question is whether you have mastered the artistry of wearing and shopping for these bad boys. When I decided to buy a pair, I kept having the biggest issue when ordering them. It seemed like every pair I bought and returned would be so snug I couldn’t move or so snug I couldn’t button them. There was something completely different about shopping for a pair of leather pants.

The trick is really to order a size or two up. I am a size 6 usually and I had to order a size 10. This also creates an issue if you decide to buy a pair that is high-waisted because then you have the issue of awkward waistline gapping. My best tips for this would be to get them altered, find a great belt or just work with shirts that will compliment the pants.

For my first look I paired them with a jean shirt which I could tuck in to mask the gaping. Add a gray suede biker jacket and fun “camera” bag and you’re ready to go. I am absolutely obsessed with this fringe shirt from Sammydress. It lets me mix up the usual chambray shirt for something with a little more spunk.

In my second look, I wore the off the shoulder top with a choker from Sammydress. I personally love the colors gray and pink together, so naturally I grabbed for my light pink leather jacket to pair with this look. This shirt satisfies your off the shoulder dreams and fulfills your choker obsession.

For my final look, I wore the Sammydress choker sweater, which is so unbelievably cute. I would recommend ordering a size up in this. My long torso needs a little extra fabric to function. My high-waisted leather pants, lets me pull this off though.

This look is all about what’s underneath the statement pieces. The casual dress that I am wearing was actually in the back of my mother’s closet. Picture one of those long 90’s teacher dresses that all the way to the floor. That is exactly what I was working with. I cut and hemmed the dress and now it is one of my favorite pieces to wear.

For fall I layered a rib turtleneck underneath and paired it with my new fun shoes from Ippo. These CiCada HotSoles are perfect with the classic ankle strap and faux fur detail. They give your outfit that extra oomph for when you’re feeling pretty bold. I layered a pair of my everyday socks underneath to contrast the heels and add some needed warmth to the outfit.

This week Ippo’s shoes are only $10 for the week of Black Friday. You need to get in on these deal. These fun heels and any other pair on their website will be yours for ten dollars!

Velour. I can’t get enough of it. It feels nice, it’s stretchy in most cases and adds a stylish touch to your outfit.  This sexy midi dress was made for the t-shirt layering look. It brings this dress down to casual, but let’s be real this dress sparkles too. It is definitely a bold piece, which I styled with a low black-strap heel and a classic bomber jacket.

This dress came from Zaful and it was well worth the oddly fast shipment, coming half-way round the world. I believe it only took a week and a half. The color is gorgeous and the fit is so nice. I am a big fan of midi’s because you’ll never have to worry about buying a dress online that ends up being too short for your derriere.

Get the dress here or check out there Facebook and Instagram for more inspo.

Fall fashion is in full swing. Sweaters, scarfs and boots are all around. A way to elevate your fall wardrobe is with some updated sweaters and scarfs. Zaful’s  high-low lace-up V-neck sweater is perfect for those crisp fall days. We’ve all seen the lace-up bodysuits, dresses, etc. Reinventing it into a sweater was just what we were looking for.

I am constantly throwing this sweater on. It is comfortable and cute and an easy choice for a chic cozy outfit. Throw on the plaid fringe scarf and you’re bundled for a perfect fall day. This is the ultimate must-have plaid print that will strike some stares when you walk by.

Looking fashionable can be a tough job. Keeping your tech fashionable can be even tougher. I recently got my iPhone 7 an have ran into the first world problem of not being able to listen to my phone and charge it at the same time. A girl has to listen to all her fashion podcasts on her road trips, while keeping her phone alive.

Sudio Sweden earphones has made it easy for a fashionable pair of wireless headphones. Trust me I’ve seen some ugly wireless headphones that my phone service has tried to sell me. #NotHavingIt

I received the Studio Vasa Bla earphones in snow white WHITE. First of all, they’re gorgeous. White with rose gold detailing should be a requirement for all accessories. They also come in Black Forest, Blue Laguna and Soft Pink. Each pair comes with a sleek leather case, extra earbuds and a unique clip.

Not only do they look good, but they are the lightest on the market so far and they amplify the sound of each instrument with studio quality sound. In my experience with them, they are super noise cancelling too. The added bonus of these wireless beauts is that thy have an 8-hour-battery life to boot.

Sudio Sweden has given me a 15% off promotion code for anyone interested in purchasing. Just type in SassOfStyle as the promo code when you checkout on their site.

With fashionable headphones comes a fashionable outfit. My classic mom jeans, white button-down, favorite boots and bandanna made the cut. The bandanna ended up being my belt. This time not to accentuate my waist per usual, but to almost give a corset-belt look. From Kylie Jenner to Danielle Bernstein this higher than usual belt trend is arising. Creating a  hybrid of the corset-belt look with a bandanna results in an ultra chic experiment. I’m just over here trying to get inventive with bandannas while they’re still relevant.

Once again if you’re interested in the fab Sudio Sweden earphones use the promo code SassOfStyle at checkout for 15% off.

1.  Wine is different in every town.

I guarantee their will be a wine bar in the larger cities in your state that you haven’t seen yet. Wine exists to be tasted, so do wine a favor and go find it.

2. Coffee is different in every town.

Coffee shops are amazing to find because they all have a different aesthetic and signature drink. This time I had a Maple Cappuccino at Brew City and my sugar-craving self was thrilled.

3. You’re not really too busy.

I don’t have time is the adult version of my dog ate my homework. So get up, get out and make some time to go explore.

4. Feeling like a lost puppy can be thrilling.

Wandering around an unknown place can be like a game you want to keep playing. Bouncing from waterfronts to hat stores to boutiques can have you excited to run into your next destination.

5. You might find something, you thought you wouldn’t find.

You can run into a familiar face, favorite items or just discover your favorite place to visit in general. I found this amazing boutique called Lola’s and realized they carried Pink Haley Handbags from my previous post. I ran inside and attempted to grab the bag from the window to see if I was right. Totally did not look at the sign that said do not touch. Face palm. (Last day for the Pink Haley Handbag giveaway is today by the way.)

6. Always an Instagramable moment available.

Whenever you travel somewhere there is always a photo opp waiting to happen. Take advantage of it for your Instagram game and have fun with it.
